A Further History of Wolsingham Grammar School

The Weardale school opened in 1614 to teach local boys the rudiments of Christianity and grammar. The Author used the feedback from her first history to make her new work even more comprehensive and to include more anecdotes and stories.

Tommy's Notebook

Tommy Thompson was born in Stanhope in Weardale in 1883. During a few years of the early 20th century he kept a small notebook recording daily events. The notebook is reproduced with historical comment added from research done by David Heatherington and Kate Gill of the Museum. A real glimpse into the life of an ordinary Weardale family.
